Five months after the death of Damien Darhk , Oliver is distracted from his new duties as mayor due to continuing as Green Arrow alone, his old team members having gone their separate ways.

He is encouraged by Felicity to build a new team by recruiting the amateur vigilantes now working in Star City, like Rene Ramirez.

He is rescued by Speedy, but she permanently quits the team after seeing that Oliver is again willing to kill. Church escapes from the Green Arrow and a team of several police officers, then later unites all the organized crime cartels and street gangs under his leadership.

In a flashback, Oliver encounters his old friend Anatoli Knyazev in Russia. Anatoli agrees to help him kill Konstantin Kovar , the tyrant running Taiana's village, by initiating him to the Bratva, the only group that can possibly defeat Kovar.

Green Arrow recruits Rene, Evelyn Sharp, and Curtis and begins training them using an exercise from his Bratva initiation, revealed through flashbacks.

As mayor, Oliver arranges to have AmerTek provide free medical care for Star City's disenfranchised at a special clinic.

A new metahuman, " Ragman ", appears and starts attacking AmerTek executives. The recruits leave Green Arrow because they do not trust him.

Ragman and Green Arrow stop an arms buy between Carroll and Church. Ragman later reveals that he was the only survivor of the Havenrock bombing.

Green Arrow convinces him to put aside vengeance and join his team. Later, Oliver reveals his identity to the other recruits as a sign of trust and they agree to rejoin the team.

Thea decides to appoint Quentin as Deputy Mayor. Church is attacked by the mysterious archer who calls himself "Prometheus", who wants to personally kill Green Arrow.

Green Arrow investigates a new drug, "Stardust", but still believes his team is not ready for the streets. The raid goes wrong and Sampson ends up with superhuman strength and an inability to feel pain.

Oliver learns what happened from District Attorney Adrian Chase, convincing him that he still cannot trust his recruits.

Felicity advises him to accept the recruits as they are and Green Arrow finally uses his new team to stop Sampson from creating more superhumans.

Oliver also publicly endorses Thea's decision to appoint Quentin as Deputy Mayor after negative news stories almost cause her to resign.

Felicity admits to Rory Ragman that she was the one responsible for Havenrock. Diggle is incarcerated and hallucinates Floyd Lawton as his cellmate due to guilt over killing his brother.

Afterward, he tells Lyla that he will not fight the charges against him, so she asks Oliver to help her break Diggle out of prison.

Flashbacks focus on Anatoli teaching Oliver the need to trust his brothers in the Bratva. Afterward, Rory formally leaves the team, saying that he cannot work with Felicity.

Oliver leaves Star City to help Lyla break Diggle out of prison over Felicity and the team's objections. Quentin and Adrian personally deliver the evidence to the SCPD, which turns out to be a disguised bomb.

The explosion allows Church's group to break in and steal weapons from evidence. Oliver infiltrates a federal prison and locates Diggle, who agrees to escape to safeguard Oliver.

Oliver takes him and Lyla to a H. Felicity attempts to reconcile matters with Rory. She and the team determine that Church is planning an assault on the SCPD's anti-crime unit, where Adrian is interrogating Church's man.

Oliver returns and vows to rescue Rene, while Adrian decides to trust the vigilantes' motives. In flashbacks, Anatoli tasks Oliver with gaining information from, and then killing, an associate of Kovar.

Oliver completes the assignment and Anatoli welcomes him into the Bratva. Oliver rescues Rene, who tells him that he gave up Green Arrow's true identity to Church.

Church plans to kill Oliver as the Mayor instead of as the vigilante. Diggle rejoins the team and suggests that bodyguard Christopher Chance , the "Human Target", could be able to help them.

Christopher impersonates Oliver at City Hall and fakes the Mayor's death when Church's mercenary attacks. The team realizes that Church plans to consolidate the drug traffic of five cities through Star City, needing Green Arrow eliminated for his plan to succeed.

Oliver and his team, joined by Diggle and Christopher, raid Church's meeting and capture him along with several other crime lords.

Oliver publicly claims that his faked death was part of a sting operation. Prometheus kills Church during transport, despite Church telling him Green Arrow's identity.

Television reporter Susan Williams obtains evidence that Oliver was in Russia during the time he was supposedly stranded on the island. Meanwhile, Oliver finds out that Felicity is dating Billy Malone, a police detective recently assigned to the anti-crime unit.

In flashbacks, Oliver is ambushed by other Bratva members. However, the men are killed by Christopher, whom Anatoli had hired to protect Oliver.

Oliver, Diggle, and Felicity privately track Prometheus, who starts killing seemingly random civilians with throwing stars. A news report on the killings causes tension in the city and angers the recruits, since they were not informed.

Felicity steals one of the stars from Billy to examine it. A pattern between the victims relates to Oliver's list from when he first started out as the Hood.

This further angers the recruits, Evelyn most of all, as they did not know about Oliver's "kill list" from when he initially returned.

Felicity uses the pattern to predict future victims and the team splits up. Evelyn encounters Prometheus and engages him, managing to cut his arm before being overpowered.

Oliver then arrives, but Prometheus escapes. Meanwhile, Thea discovers that Quentin never quit drinking. Evelyn reconciles with Oliver and Felicity tells Billy that she works with the Green Arrow, which intrigues him.

She later tells Oliver that evidence she has discovered suggests that Prometheus could be an SCPD officer; Quentin is shown waking from an alcohol-induced sleep with a slash across his arm and a throwing star in his possession.

The team poses as bank robbers to lure out the Vigilante, who again escapes even after Oliver defeats and nearly unmasks him.

Thea tells Oliver about Quentin and the possibility of his being framed; they deduce that Prometheus must know Green Arrow's identity.

Evelyn is revealed to be working for Prometheus. In flashbacks, Kovar introduces Oliver to his servant Galina, Taiana's mother. He also claims that the Bratva have only been using Oliver for their own ends, including making a deal with him.

Kovar then releases Oliver back to the Bratva. This episode continues a crossover event that begins on The Flash season 3 episode 8 , and concludes on Legends of Tomorrow season 2 episode 7.

Prometheus obtains further intel about the team from Evelyn. He then attacks and hospitalizes Curtis, injecting him with a tuberculosis vaccine developed by Justin Claybourne, a corrupt pharmaceutical manufacturer named on Oliver's former kill list.

Flashbacks show that Oliver killed Claybourne after discovering that he financed a TB epidemic, then raised the price on his drug to boost his company's profits.

When the team tracks down Prometheus, Evelyn reveals her true allegiance and escapes with Prometheus. Investigating Prometheus on his own, Billy sends information he discovers to Felicity just before the villain captures him.

The information turns out to be about Claybourne's illegitimate son, who may now be seeking retribution.

Oliver deduces that Prometheus is at the former office building of the corporation that created the epidemic and goes there alone. He finds that Prometheus has staged it to resemble Oliver's prior attack.

Oliver kills Prometheus, only to discover he has actually killed a gagged Billy, whom the real Prometheus set up as himself to trick Oliver.

Curtis' husband Paul leaves him after discovering Curtis is a vigilante; Felicity mourns Billy's death; Diggle is recaptured; Oliver encounters a woman inside the lair who appears to be Laurel Lance , alive and well.

Oliver welcomes the seemingly-revived Laurel into the team, but it becomes clear that she is Laurel's Earth-Two doppelganger Black Siren, having been broken out of S.

Laurel escapes and calls Oliver for a meeting, which ends in her capture. Learning about Paul, Rene convinces Curtis to focus on his capabilities, not his flaws.

Oliver places Laurel in an A. Oliver reveals his plans to follow their Laurel's dying wish, to find a new Black Canary.

She initially refuses to join, but the team intercepts her attacking Sonus, who is also a metahuman with sonic powers. Sonus escapes and Oliver reveals his identity to convince Tina to let him help her.

Oliver's team helps her defeat the dealers during a shipment, but Oliver fails to dissuade her from killing Sonus.

With the file, Adrian manages to get John released. Tina meets Oliver and agrees to join the team, revealing that her real name is Dinah Drake.

In the present, the team learns that Walker is in Russia for a deal with Markovian terrorists. Oliver takes everyone except Rene, who is helping Quentin prepare for an interview with Susan.

Anatoli refuses to help Oliver unless he does something criminal in return, which Oliver refuses. After Felicity blackmails a Russian analyst, the team captures Walker's henchman, whom John tortures to no avail.

To prevent John and Felicity from acting against their morals, Oliver and Dinah accept Anatoli's terms and attacks a rival. The team and the Bratva intercept Walker's deal.

John decides to spare Walker, who is arrested by the US military police, while Rory uses his rags to contain the nuclear blast of Walker's failsafe bomb.

Upon returning, Oliver sleeps with Susan, who later deduces his alter-ego after learning about a similar hooded vigilante who was in Russia five years ago.

Rory tells Felicity that his rags do not function anymore and that he needs to leave temporarily. Meanwhile, with Rene's help, Quentin's interview is successful and they become friends.

Sixteen months ago, Rene watched as his wife, an addict, was killed by a dealer in front of their daughter, Zoe, who was transferred to foster care, barring Rene from seeing her.

He was inspired by the Green Arrow killing Darhk and saving Star City and decided to start his vigilantism.

In the present, Rene now works for Quentin as his assistant. An armed man attacks city hall , killing seven staff members and wounding several others.

Felicity identifies the shooter as James Edlund, a former clerk and a proponent of gun control who lost his family in a shootout months prior.

Thea and Quentin encourage Oliver to deal with the situation as the mayor, not the vigilante. Oliver decides to work with the city council towards a gun control act.

Rene and Curtis locate Edlund's hideout and find his next target, where Oliver confronts Edlund as the mayor and dissuades him from killing anyone, convincing him to surrender.

Oliver reaches an agreement with the council with Rene's help. Curtis promises to help Rene get Zoe back legally. Oliver meets Prometheus' alleged mother, but she refuses to help him.

During a prison transfer, Chien , Carrie , and Warner kill the guards and escape. Pike receives evidence that the Green Arrow killed Malone and orders a manhunt.

Oliver and Quentin track down the trio, but they escape due to the intervention of the ACU. Oliver surmises that Prometheus is responsible for sending the evidence.

Susan asks Oliver if he is the Green Arrow and he says no. Thea discredits her by having Felicity hack Susan's files and insert proof that she committed plagiarism.

Susan gets angry with Oliver, who then confronts Thea. He reveals the circumstances surrounding Malone's death to Pike.

The team intercepts the trio stealing money from a stash left by Church, but are ambushed by their mercenaries. The ACU arrives and arrests the trio, allowing the team to leave.

Quentin gives Dinah his blessing to assume the Black Canary identity. Word of the cover-up is later leaked to the media and the allegations are serious enough that impeachment is on the table.

In flashbacks, Oliver and Anatoli engage Gregor and his men. Gregor prepares to kill Anatoli. Oliver's impeachment process begins, with Adrian serving as his attorney.

The Vigilante starts targeting the former, but is opposed by Prometheus, who is revealed to be Adrian.

Using Pandora, Felicity and Thea learn about a secret that can be used to blackmail an alderman. Oliver and John dissuade them from using it.

Using a piece of the Vigilante's visor, Curtis manages to track him down to where he plans to assassinate Oliver. To give himself a fighting chance to remain mayor, Oliver publicly disavows the Green Arrow as a "cop killer", stating his motive for the cover-up was to protect the people from losing hope.

The council votes against impeachment, but Thea resigns from Oliver's administration in order to work on her morality. Paul decides to divorce Curtis.

Susan gets her job back due to Felicity's anonymous testimony. Felicity then secretly joins Helix. Adrian aggressively demands that Susan listen to his story.

In flashbacks, Anatoli demands "spross dopross", the process by which the Pakhan may be overthrown. Oliver infiltrates Kovar's mansion and acquires evidence that Gregor has been embezzling the Bratva's money.

The majority of the captains vote for Anatoli, but Gregor starts a mutiny. Oliver meets Talia, who reveals herself to be Ra's al Ghul 's daughter.

She tells Oliver that she hates him for killing her father, so she helped Adrian become Prometheus. Oliver confronts Adrian, who says that he has kidnapped Williams and she will starve if Oliver kills him.

Felicity agrees to hack Department of Homeland Security drones for Helix in exchange for assistance in finding Williams' location.

Oliver's team enters the building, finding and rescuing Williams before Oliver confronts Adrian. Diggle brings Doris to try and convince Adrian to surrender, only for him to mortally stab her.

Malcolm helps Kovar's operatives revive him. In the present, Adrian tortures Oliver to make him confess a "secret".

The former brings a seemingly reluctant Evelyn, apparently killing her after Oliver refuses to do it. Oliver reveals that he killed people because he liked it, which Adrian wanted to hear.

Evelyn is revealed to be alive and still assisting Adrian. Adrian lets Oliver go, and he returns to the hideout and tells the team about his decision to end his vigilantism.

With Chase having broken him, Oliver disbands the team and calls in the Bratva to take out Chase. Diggle tries to talk Oliver out of it, reminding him that there are better ways of doing things.

Felicity goes to Helix and manages to find pixelated footage of Chase taking off his Prometheus mask. Oliver allows the Bratva to steal diabetes medicine as a downpayment, but they are stopped by the team.

Diggle tells Oliver that they can fix him if he is willing to accept help. Oliver rejoins the team, taking out the Bratva and saving hostages that Anatoli had taken as leverage.

Felicity and Curtis manage to decode Chase's pixelation device, revealing Prometheus' identity to the police.

Oliver is injured trying to find a way out. Eventually, Diggle is lowered down an access shaft with the others' help and manages to pull up both Oliver and Felicity.

The team takes refuge at A. Later, Chase is revealed to have tracked down Oliver's son, William. In flashbacks to the period after Damien's death, Oliver, Felicity, and Curtis continue working together.

Curtis arranges to have Oliver and Felicity spend time together, leading to their having sex in the lair, but she decides that she is not ready to get back together with Oliver, who accepts it.

Chase's prosecutions are discredited and most of the convicts, including Sampson, are released on bail. Oliver is sent a body, identified as Henry Goodwin.

The team deduces that Chase and Sampson are working together to release Claybourne's weaponized tuberculosis in Star City.

With Oliver wearing the Green Arrow costume again, they track the bomb and engage Sampson's party while Oliver duels Chase. Sampson is captured as Curtis defuses the bomb.

Oliver reveals that Claybourne planned to disown Chase due to Chase's mental condition. Disillusioned, Chase asks Oliver to kill him, but Oliver arrests him instead.

Oliver gives Thea a video of Robert asking her to look after Oliver. Meanwhile, Rene refuses to testify in court so as not to upset Zoe, leading to the judge dismissing his claim.

Heir to the Demon. Nyssa alias "Miss Raatko" managing to get the best of several trained Customs and Immigration officers in high heels no less , then casually walking out as the PA voiceover says "Welcome to Starling City".

Felicity shows her smartness when she approaches Moira Queen directly doubles as a moment of funny: I flagged a large wire transfer you made. When I mentioned it to Walter, he said he would talk to you about it.

I could tell in his face he wouldn't. British people are really bad liars. So I looked into it myself because I don't trust you.

If you won't keep my secret for Oliver's sake, you should keep it for your own. I see the way you look at him. If you tell him this, you will rip his world apart.

And a part of him will always blame you. Oh, he'll hate me for sure. But he'll hate you, too. What, they didn't teach you about right crosses in assassin school?

Felicity taking a bullet from Tockman to save the Canary, then knocking him out by using the virus that he used earlier against the Foundry computers to make his phone blow up.

It's just an appetizer for the next episode, but it still bears mention. The birth of both the Arrow and Deathstroke, as Oliver undergoes a Training Montage and hoods up while Slade masks up for the assault on the Amazo.

The entire battle sequence with our heroes, the prisoners, and Ivo's men aboard the ship. It is every bit as epic as an action scene in a blockbuster movie.

Slade gets his first chronological one as a villain when he takes over the Amazo by killing its captain and cuts off Ivo's hand.

He puts the cherry on top with two words: Out of all the characters the show cameos, it cameos Harley Quinn. This is in many ways awesome: And it all but confirms that Batman exists in the Arrow-Verse.

It's awesome for one other very simple reason — there had been speculation that, due to Fox's Gotham series using the Batman license, Arrow may not be able to use characters like Nightwing that fall under said license.

Harley's cameo confirms that those characters are still on the table. The Squad in general. Despite not working together for very long, they all apply their skills and perform their roles flawlessly save for Shrapnel , and work together surprisingly well.

The Canary laying waste to the mook who had just grabbed Laurel in the courthouse. Oliver managing to shoot at and shatter Helena's crossbow from approximately fifty feet away.

Quentin knocking out the deranged SWAT captain who tried to gun down all the vigilantes, especially since Sara and Laurel were in danger from him.

Both fights between the Canary and the Huntress. Had Laurel not intervened the second time, Helena would've paid for her crimes with her life.

This episode is basically Slade playing Oliver like a damn fiddle left and right. One moment that particularly stands out for him is stopping a prison bus and recruiting the prisoners for his army — while Oliver is distracted fighting through an army of mooks an awesome moment for him trying to reach Thea, only to find she's not there.

Slade's final masterstroke to break Oliver? Paying Laurel a visit, not to hurt her, but to let her know Oliver is the Arrow.

Why expend the energy when a few words will do to destroy their relationship? Another villainous one comes with Isabel Rochev taking over Queen Consolidated, calmly revealing her knowledge of Oliver's secret identity, and proving to already be something of a Dark Action Girl , able to hold her own against him at least for a bit.

Thea gets one for calling out Oliver and Moira on keeping her true parentage from her , even if Slade did lie to her about how long Oliver knew it.

The Man Under the Hood. Caitlin Snow and Cisco Ramon, characters from the upcoming Flash spinoff, get one by being the first people to even remotely slow down present-day Deathstroke thanks to a weapon made by Arthur Light.

It only works once, and Slade still ends up getting the machine he came for, but it remains impressive. Laurel proves she has Brass Balls when she gets her father released from prison by promising her boss, the District Attorney , that she'll make it her life's goal to sue the District Attorney's office for wrongful arrests and reckless endangerment.

At the climax, Slade cutting Oliver's rapidly shot arrows in mid-air. Isabel again showing her Dark Action Girl credentials and giving Oliver some trouble, though he does overpower her — only for Slade to take over the attack.

Ollie finally surprises Slade and puts him down albeit very momentarily thanks to hidden projectiles on his bow. Diggle saving Oliver by shooting Isabel is rather cathartic after her actions in this and the previous episode, though it does lead to her getting the Mirakuru.

For all her flaws, Moira Queen proves once and for all that she is a woman you do not want to mess with, as she will do anything to protect her children.

That includes staring down Slade Wilson and outright demanding no harm come to her children when he kidnaps the Queen family and tries to force Oliver into the same Sadistic Choice that got Shado killed on the island.

Moira being Moira, she will not have Oliver live with that choice, so she stands up, stares Slade right in the eye, and gets stabbed in the heart.

Crosses over with Tear Jerker. Also notable for completely avoiding any feeling of Stuffed into the Fridge.

Moira had plenty of Character Development in her time on the show, making it hard to feel like there was much untapped potential, and she goes out completely on her own terms, saving her family, like her every action up to this point was designed to do.

Diggle kidnaps one of Slade's men, who's initially defiant and says he's not afraid of a beating.

Then Felicity steps up, announces "I'll be your interrogator this evening," and gets him to sing in seconds by hitting him where it really hurts and sending his secret bank accounts to charity.

What should I do with the rest? Big grin And they really appreciate the support. Diggle going toe to toe with a superhuman Isabel in the beginning. Felicity saving Dig's day with the van.

Doubles as a moment of funny due to her amusingly Adorkable one-liner about the airbags. Quentin managing to get in close to the masked Mirakuru soldier with hand grenades, then escape the blast radius.

Laurel firing Oliver's explosive arrow at the right spot to clear a path, with only his verbal instructions to help.

Quentin finally succeeding in getting the police to trust the Arrow, and getting back his detective shield in the process.

Doubles as a Heartwarming Moment. Shortly after, when the soldier is still refusing to go down and has grabbed Malcolm in a crushing bear hug: You're out of arrows.

Oliver and Felicity pulling off an amazing Batman Gambit to fool Slade into letting Felicity get close enough to inject him with the Mirakuru cure.

And keep in mind, it was Felicity who did the injection; the same Felicity who very rarely goes out into the field and is usually behind a computer, up against Deathstroke, a psychotic mercenary with Super Strength who can cut her head off with his katana at any moment.

And before that, Felicity's speech to Oliver pulling him out from his darkest hour. And you are not done fighting! And you will stop Slade. You are not alone Finally seeing Roy in full Arsenal garb.

Laurel gets credit for this one too, as it was her idea. The new Vertigo is significantly more badass than the original, managing to hold his own against the Arrow even after he's overcome the drug's effects.

Sara's Dynamic Entry , reappearing during the episode's climax to help Oliver take down Vertigo and his Mooks.

Pity it's her last awesome moment until Season Four. Barry Allen 's cameo leading into a great crossover scene in his own pilot episode.

Oliver and Komodo's duel on their motorcycles. Each of them is besting each other and when Oliver manages to rip the fuel line of the latter's motorcycle, Komodo does a quick arrow to Oliver's arm, ending the fight.

If it wasn't for the arrow, he would have won the fight against Komodo. Later, their fight at QC, with Ollie performing an Arrow Catch before shooting the arrow right back at his opponent.

The end of the episode where Thea kicks two guys' asses at Kendo after only 5 months or less training. Oliver and Diggle MacGyvering bows and arrows from stuff in their hotel room.

When the enemy reinforcements show up, Diggle tosses Oliver a gun. Oliver proceeds to curbstomp the hired soldiers.

Thea not reacting at all to coffee splashing on her hand. Felicity makes clear to Ray upfront that she's done being people's secretary.

Then he reveals she's being made an executive, and has her own assistant. It's practically an Awesome Moment of Crowning. Laurel's first shot at taking up her sister's mantle.

She had to know it would probably go badly — trying anyway took guts. Malcolm's escape from the monastery, including dodging an arrow from just a few feet away.

The three-way battle between Oliver, Nyssa and Malcolm. Badass points go to all three for this, but especially Nyssa, who basically takes on Green Arrow and the Dark Archer at the same time and gives as good as she gets.

Nyssa decking Oliver after he let Malcolm escape. He even admits he had that coming. In the flashbacks, Oliver blackmailing Amanda Waller into leaving Maseo's family alone.

Ra's Al-Ghul 's first appearance at the episode's end makes one thing clear; everything that we've heard about this man has been underselling exactly how intimidating he really is.

The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak. The opening triple training montage. Bonus points to Thea for being the only one to impress their mentor.

Bet you never thought you'd see a reference to Death of the Endless on this show. Well, just check out Felicity's college look.

Donna Smoak diving into full Mama Bear mode despite being tied to a chair when the villain is pointing a gun at Felicity. You wanna wave that gun at me, fine, but don't you dare threaten my daughter.

Try a single mom who's worked sixty hour weeks in six-inch heels for tips in order to raise that genius child you see right there.

I may not understand all this cyber-whatever , but I know without that gun, you wouldn't last ten seconds against my daughter. And they managed to make perfect sense to use it in battle.

On that note, Ted actually managed to give Ollie a pretty good fight prior to said boxing arrow. Draw Back Your Bow. The reveal of Ray Palmer's Atom suit.

During Oliver's second fight with Cupid, he shoots her bow out of her hands with a shot that breaks it in half.

And then, to get out of the cuff she put on him, dislocating his thumb. Tatsu slicing her way through a bunch of gun-toting Triad goons with a katana.

Both Oliver and the audience likely have the same expression. The Brave and the Bold. The Flash's entrance, snatching two boomerangs out of the air that would have impaled Oliver.

The visual effect, combining the motion blur showing how fast Barry was moving even in Bullet Time , the lightning flickering across him, and the action of grabbing the two projectiles was an amazing and beautiful comic book panel brought to life.

Barry showcasing his powers by taking down a roomful of Mooks in seconds. Though the second time, he misses one and Oliver has to take him out. Barry grabbing the rest of the entire combined team and dropping them off across the city, so that they can simultaneously defuse all of Harkness' bombs.

Screw you, Captain Boomerang! You think you've made some kind of point, not killing me? It just proves you're weak! No, it just proves I still have some humanity.

To do what I do, Barry, takes conviction, but more often than not it's the will to do what's ugly.

Every time I do that I'm trading away little pieces of myself so, you ask whats wrong with me that's wrong because the part that I'm trading away is Oliver Queen, and lately I've been feeling like there's nothing left except the Arrow.

I think your full of crap. Look, you've convinced yourself that everything you've been through took away your humanity but I think it's cause of you're humanity that you made it through, you wouldn't have survived much less come out the other end a hero, somebody who wants to do good, if you didn't have a a light inside of you.

When the Arrow pays Thea a visit, she first plays the coward and then attacks him and uses the opportunity to escape over a railing in about a minute's time.

Oliver is visibly confused and also impressed. The climactic duel — Ra's al Ghul demolishes Oliver; it's like watching a child fight a master.

He even gets in an awesome Badass Boast before they start: I'll take your blades when you're finished with them. Malcolm Merlyn breaks into Arrow Headquarters to drop off evidence that Oliver is dead.

Walk right up to the guy who Oliver himself always had trouble with, and look him in the eye as she accuses him of being responsible for it.

During Merlyn's first visit to the lair, he and Diggle get back-to-back moments: Diggle pulls a gun on Merlyn Merlyn: Could you put that away?

Guns don't scare so much as annoy me. Diggle calmly pulls out a second gun and points that at Merlyn too. I'm the justice you can't run from.

For the villains, Brick and his gang invade the police precinct. Felicity's "World of Cardboard" Speech as she realizes why it's still important to keep up the fight.

Roy and Laurel, despite still being inexperienced, manage to do a lot better during their second rescue of the aldermen, succeeding this time.

Bonus points to Laurel for not only getting the drop on Brick, but escaping the fight by jumping through a window onto a rope-ladder dangling from a helicopter while still being almost completely untrained.

Maseo and Tatsu taking down the three or four League members who had tracked down them and Oliver. Then Maseo wounds himself so that Ra's will think Oliver did all the killing, and won't suspect Maseo.

The running fight with China White's Mooks in the nightclub. Felicity proving to be the Only Sane Woman in this episode by not only keeping in mind what a bastard Malcolm is, but epically calling out Ollie when he says that he'll be teaming up with Malcolm.

Diggle delivers the news to Malcolm, adding that as soon as they start compromising their values like he's asking it'll be the start of Team Arrow becoming just another set of killers like him.

Team Arrow rouses the entire population of the Glades to fight back against Brick's gang, and the group of regular people actually wins the day, capped by the Arrow making his grand return and telling them he'll never leave them again.

You have failed this city. Laurel getting over her hangups about replacing Sara and hiding her death to her father, and laying a beatdown on Zytle afterwards.

Quentin guessing that Laurel is the Black Canary. Unfortunately, he didn't know the exact reason why Laurel felt the need to replace Sara.

Thea being able to correctly deduce that he was trying to poison her. In the flashbacks, Oliver knocking out China White, leading to her arrest. A villainous one from that same scene, China calmly standing her ground as a firefight ensues around her.

Girl has gone far since season one. Laurel actually facing off against Malcom prepared, having brought her father's gun! Nyssa making quick work of Malcolm when she finds him.

It helps that she has two swords, whilst he is only armed with a nightstick. Oliver actually taking Nyssa, the Heir to the Demon captive.

Ra's Al-Ghul gives Malcolm a lecture on how no magician, however talented, can escape death. Accept your death with honor, Al Sa-Her. Or at least with dignity.

When Nyssa calls out her father, she attempts to strike him with her sword. He catches it and barely flinches. The fight in the precinct between Murmur and his gang versus Team Arrow and Nyssa.

Roy beating Nyssa in a fight in his civilian identity. Arsenal lived up to his name this episode, using everything as a weapon, from arrows, to a bow in meelee fights, escrima sticks, and a tranq gun.

Diggle and Team X , outgunned and out numbered still managed to rescues a hospital full of hostages. Arrow vs Atom, armor vs arrows technology vs training.

Arrow wins by fighting smarter. Deadshot's last stand providing cover for his team and making sure that Diggle and Lyla get back home to their daughter.

The police, after their near constant uselessness for most of the series, hound Team Arrow through most of the episode to the point that Team Arrow just barely manages to escape from them.

Roy sacrificing himself to save Oliver, by 'revealing' himself as the Arrow. Roy fighting off three armed, hardened inmates while handcuffed. Ray and Oliver working together via remote control to take down Deathbolt.

And when the link is broken, Ray finishes the fight on his own. Thea's "fight" against Ra's Al Ghul. While still a Curb-Stomp Battle , she does about as well against him as Oliver did when he dueled him, showing just how far she has come since being a basically helpless party girl for most of the series.

Malcolm takes out four members of the League all on his own on the group's way to escape with Oliver. Diggle stating exactly what he thinks the League really is: A group of scared cowards hiding from their lives.

Said to an Assassin. Oliver asserting his new status as Heir when the group gets caught trying to sneak him out: Laurel using the Canary Cry that Cisco built for her for the first time on screen and by doing so she finally begins to resemble her comic book counterpart.

As much of a tearjerker as it is, watching Oliver and his team go all out against each other. How Team Arrow double-crosses the prisoner exchange hiding guns on Felicity that Lyla grabs when "hugging" her, giving them the drop on the League.

Thea finally getting her own Big Damn Heroes moment showing up to shoot an arrow into Oliver's arm in order to stop him killing Diggle.

This Is Your Sword. Diggle and Laurel trapping some goons on a corner so they can beat them all up. The fact that the episode shows Laurel at her most competent ever since she became Black Canary.

Felicity throwing a tablet at the throat of a league member with pinpoint accuracy. Even if it took Malcolm to finish the guy off it still counts.

Tatsu, in full Katana gear, whoops tons of asses. Her fight with Maseo also deserves to be mentioned, though it eventually becomes Tear Jerker after she was forced to kill him.

Maseo cutting off Shrieve's Motive Rant by shooting him in the shoulder. My Name is Oliver Queen. When everyone wakes up from the Alpha-Omega virus which Malcolm innoculated them for when no one was looking and they point out that they're still chained to the floor, he just smiles.

All we need to do is wait. Their opening attack at the beginning of the episode may have ended with them outnumbered and outgunned, but they still get points for managing to take down the truck to start with.

Turns out Oliver is quite skilled in domestic life skills, as Felicity describes his cooking skills as a never-ending episode of MasterChef.

When Felicity confesses that she secretly helped out Team Arrow through internet access, Oliver wondered how she was able to do so when they traveled to places without internet access.

Oliver decides to take back the city from Damian Darhk and his goons by declaring himself as Green Arrow , the icon of hope that Star City desperately needed.

Damien Dahrk showing his stuff as the show's new Big Bad right in his first fight by magically stopping three arrows Oliver shoots at him, then beating the living crap out of him and almost killing him with his powers.

Team Arrow demonstrating just what a team they are in the opening sequence as they mow through HIVE goons in order to disarm a bomb. Especially Laurel utilizing her baton and one of Oliver's trick arrows as a zipline.

Despite nearly being burnt to death, Anarky still mustered enough strength to escape from the ambulance after killing two paramedics.
